I’ve recently been playing some of the old retro games I used to love, and it got me thinking about how so many of them bring out the nostalgia in me through the music alone. So, I figured I’d list my favourite ones:
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Who wasn’t inspired to panic by the drowning music alone? And I challenge you to not be humming the Green Hill Zone music for the rest of the day after hearing it.
- Soleil
- I think this was known as Crusader of Centy outside of Europe. Anyways, the music throughout this whole somewhat underrated game is just fantastic.
- Landstalker
- So many memories linked to just this sound track alone! Check it out here.
- Final Fantasy 7
- No retro music list would be complete without the battle theme from Final Fantasy 7.
- Shining in the Darkness
- Admittedly, this has made it here because I’ve been playing it recently. Have some more battle music.
I have so many variations of almost every level soundtrack of Sonic on my phone. Just starting to play the casino level in my head right now!
